Course Description: An introduction to the New Testament with careful attention given to the life and teachings of Jesus.
Learning Outcomes: Students will demonstrate appropriate competency related to the following knowledge and skills:
Students will develop a better grasp of who Jesus claimed to be in his time and setting as seen through the gospels.
Students will develop basic exegetical and hermeneutical skills necessary for reading NT texts.
Students will develop an understanding of and an appreciation for the gospels and letters as theological literature from the 1st century Mediterranean world.
Students will develop knowledge of NT background, historical context, and texts.
